On the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of the Capaci massacre, the SFP wanted to remember and commemorate the dramatic event, with the aim of expressing gratitude and solidarity to the victims and families of those heroes who, with their sacrifice, have demonstrated that it is possible to counter Mafia-type organizations and fight against the violence of organized crime in order to safeguard the security of the State and free institutions.
The massacre, in which Giovanni Falcone, his wife Francesca Morvillo and the men of his police escort Vito Schifani, Rocco Dicillo and Antonio Montinari lost their lives, remains a deep and painful wound in the history of our country, but it also represents the start of the stirring of conscience that continues to inspire every day the loyal servants of the State engaged in the defense of democracy and freedom.
The trainees of the Advanced Training Course and of the II Level Crime Analysis Course, as well as the students of the 4th class of the “Amedeo Avogadro” Scientific High School and another representation of students from the “Cristo Re” Scientific High School in Rome attended this event, which was held at the “Prefetto Carlo Mosca” Conference Hall.
After the welcome address delivered by the Guardia di Finanza Brigadier General Gaetano Cutarelli, Director of the General Affairs, Personnel and Logistics Service and by the Carabinieri Corps Brigadier General Alessandro Della Nebbia, Director of the Studies, Research and Courses Service, an episode of the movie “I ragazzi delle scorte” was screened.
Then, a debate was held. It was attended by the Director of the SFP, National Police Dirigente Generale Maurizio Vallone, the Carabineri Corps Lieutenant Colonel Angela Polillo, Commander of the Carabinieri Biodiversity Department of Rome, the National Police Sostituto Commissario Dario Falvo, who was formerly in charge of the Palermo-based Police Escorts Office as well as of the police escort of Judge Giovanni Falcone, and by Mrs. Valeria Vallone choreographer, author and director of the Theatre-Dance show “Mafia: the parallel world.
At the end of the event, the Carabinieri Biodiversity Command delivered to the SFP a cutting of the “Falcone Tree”. Then, the final part of the Musical “Mafia: the parallel world” was screened at the “Prefetto Carlo Mosca” Conference Hall.
