LazioRegional Local Police Academy. New Advanced Training Academy  for Territorial Security presented in Rome

On 13 January 2026, the Scuola di Perfezionamento per le Forze di Polizia hosted the official presentation of the Regional Academy of Local Police of Lazio region, a new participatory foundation designed to become the benchmark for the training and advanced qualification of officers, middle management and managament grade officials of local police forces in that region. 

The event was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, who stressed the importance of offering advanced training to address contemporary urban security challenges, enhance professional skills, and strengthen synergy between local police and other national police forces. The ceremony was also attended by the Prefect of Rome, Lamberto Giannini, the President of the Lazio Region, Francesco Rocca, the Regional Councilor for Personnel, Urban Security, Local Police, Local Authorities, and Universities, Luisa Regimenti, and the President of the Academy, the Deputy Prefect Andrea Bartolotta.

During the event, the educational and scientific program as well as the official logo of the new institution were presented. In the coming months, the Academy will launch annual and multi-year courses, specialization seminars, management training modules and research projects, with the aim of enhancing the professional skills of operators in the field. 

The Academy, which has the Lazio Region as its sole founding member, with the possibility for local authorities and private entities to join as participating or associate members, has been endowed, in the 2026-2028 regional budget,  with permanent  resources for its activity.  Moreover, it aims to strengthen the operational identity of local police forces, thus contributing to urban security and territorial governance, in line with recent institutional and social needs.
