Advanced Course on: “Combating trafficking in human beings and smuggling of migrants”  –  From 12 to 22 March 2024

In the morning of 22 March 2024, the Advanced Course on “Combating trafficking in human beings and smuggling of migrants”, came to an end. The Director of the Scuola di Perfezionamento per le Forze di Polizia, National Police  Dirigente Generale Maurizio Vallone and the Director of the  Scuola di Alta Formazione, Carabinieri Corps Lieutenant Colonel Domenico Forte, delivered their closing remarks. This ceremony was held in the presence of the Questore of Caserta, Andrea Grassi, as well as of the Director of the Scuola Allievi Agenti, Adele Monaco. This Course on: “Combating trafficking in human beings and smuggling of migrants”, started on Monday 11 March 2024 at the Caserta-based Scuola Internazionale di Alta formazione per la prevenzione ed il contrasto al crimine organizzato.

Several European and non-European countries, a total of sixteen, participated in this event: Algeria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ivory Coast, Jordan, Kosovo, Romania, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Malta, Greece, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Slovenia, Cameroon, Nigeria.    

As regards the Italian Police Forces, eleven trainees belonging to three Italian Police Forces, that is to say National Police, Carabinieri Corps, Guardia di Finanza Corps, participated in this event. They were Police Forces Officers/Officals having a background in border police activity, maritime police activity, labor protection and organized crime. All the participants expressed their heartfelt appreciation for the increased skills and comprehensive knowledge they have acquired during this training activity.

Some Italian prominent experts in the field of international cooperation, border police, maritime police, labor protection and  and technical–informatics departments offered their contributions to develop the know-how of these training activities.

Representatives of the European Border and Coast Guard Agency, European Law Enforcement Agency, as well as outstading magistrates and experts of the academic milieu, participated in this event in their capacity as lecturers.
