Meeting on the international geopolitical trends, held at the  Scuola di Perfezionamento per le Forze di Polizia

In the morning of 6 June 2023, in the framework of the thematic in–depht studies conducted during the seminars included in the curriculum of the XXXVIII Advanced Training Course as well as of the 121° Interagency Coordination and International Cooperation Refresher Course, the meeting on the topic “Security among States and inside the States in the complexity of the new international scenarios” was held at the  “Prefetto Carlo Mosca” Conference Hall.

This meeting, conducted by the Newspaper Editor of  LaPresse, Mrs.  Alessia Lautone, was attended by the following lecturers: the Deputy Director General of Public Security Department in charge of  Coordination and Planning of Police Forces,  Prefetto Stefano Gambacurta, the former Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ambassador Ettore Francesco Sequi, the Deputy Newspaper Editor  of the  Corriere della Sera, Mr. Antonio Polito, the author of the book  “History and geopolitics of the Ukraine crisis”, Professor Giorgio Cella,  the Deputy Director of the National Associated  Press Agency (ANSA according to the Italian acronym) Mr.  Stefano Polli.

In his welcome address, the Director of the  Scuola di Perfezionamento,  Carabinieri Corps Major General  Giuseppe La Gala, underlined that this meeting was aimed at analyzing the development of the international geopolitical balances which are currently strongly influenced by the Ukraine crisis. Moreover, Major General La Gala highlighted that  this  situation is a harbinger of new international alliances  which deeply change the political-economic structure of  the whole world. The prominent lecturers  analyzed in details the topic of this meeting and, according to the  usual attitude of the Scuola di Perfezionamento, illustrated the different aspects of this issue from different points of view,  adopting a multi-subjective approach. These lecturers provided  their  contributions on the basis of their respective backgrounds. As a matter of fact, they dealt with topics related  to the current impact of international scenarios  on the internal security, the epochal changes taking place in international relations among the States, the public perception of security, the growing Russian interests in the new fields of the international framework and the significant migratory events arising from the conflict.
