The Commander-General of the Arma dei Carabinieri Corps, Lt. General Teo Luzi, was the chief participant in a meeting with the trainees of the XXXVI Advanced Training Course on the topic “Strategy to manage security and protection in our country during the COVID-19 pandemic”.
The Commander-General, after analyzing the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic, such as the confusion of the citizens, the economic crisis and the social tensions, recalled the guidelines according to which the Arma dei Carabinieri Corps, in constant cooperation with the other Police Forces, ensured compliance with the measures adopted by the government to counter the spreading of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Then, he illustrated the provisions adopetd to safeguard the leadership and operational skills of the members of the Carabinieri Corps in case of unpredictable scenarios, with the aim of maintaining public order and security. Moreover, he underlined that “in these exceptional circumstances, the traditional commitment of the Carabinieri Corps to ensuring proximity to the national communities has been emphasized.”
Moreover, General Luzi focused his detailed analysis on some peculiar activities of assistance and support to people and pointed out that the Arma dei Carabinieri has carried out also a function of direct support to the vaccination campaign, without neglecting its general prevention activity carried out by the special units operating to protect the citizens’ fundamental rights, first of all the right to health.
At the end of a tight “question time” with the trainees, LT. Gen. Luzi wanted to give a hopeful message and ended the meeting declaring the following: “ This crisis is going to end. Let’s start again with passion. For this reason, it is important to look forward to the future with confidence and optimism”.
