In the morning of 22 April 2024, the Commander General of the Carabinieri Corps, Lieutenant General Teo Luzi, opened a set of meetings with the leaders of the four Police Forces. This initiative, which was addressed to the XXXIX Advanced Training Course, was focused on the topic concerning “The role of the Carabinieri Corps in relation to the security of citizens”.
In his lecture, General Luzi, starting from the traditional dichotomy concerning the institutional activity carried out by the Carabinieri Corps, engaged in both internal security and external defence, emphasized that the model represented by this institution is something unique in the international scenario, since it preserves values that have been recognized also abroad for more than 160 years.
This meeting provided the trainees attending the Advanced Training Course with an important contribution indicating that the protection of our country’s security is an increasingly wide-ranging activity involving not only the objective needs for the protection of public order and the repression of crimes, but also the subjective needs of the citizens who want to be protected by the presence of the Carabinieri over the territory and want to be reassured also at social and security level, taking into account the virtual perspective in which the Carabinieri Corps are engaged in the areas of cyber defence and cyber investigation. At the end of the meeting, General Luzi met all the trainees as well as the other members of the Carabinieri Corps attending the event and extended his greetings to everyone. Then he posed for a group photo.
