INNOVATION AND SECURITY – PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN SPES ACADEMY AND THE SCUOLA DI PERFEZIONAMENTO PER LE FORZE DI POLIZIA (SFP)

Rome, 4 April  2025  – To strenghten cooperation in the field of advanced training addressed to the future management grade police officers/officials, with the aim of providing them with special technical skills regarding the  prevention of  and the fight against the main threats to national security.  This is the purpose of the framework cooperation agreement which has been signed today between the High Education   Carlo Azeglio Ciampi  SPES Academy and the Scuola di Perfezionamento per le Forze di Polizia (SFP).

The partnership between these two institutes will ensure a cooperation aimed at creating synergies and promoting the exchange of information and innovative methodologies, so as to organize specialization courses, workshops, conferences and seminars.  The aim is to provide for an interdisciplinary training  to be used to  join the most prominent figures of public and  private sectors. In our country, the commitment in properly addressing the challenge of security, recognised as essential  for the whole  community, is something that cannot be postponed.

The agreement has been signed by the Director of the SPES Academy, Mr. Valerio De Luca and by the Director of the SFP,  National Police Dirigente Generale Maurizio Vallone. Moreover, Mr. Gianni Letta, in his capacity as a member of the High Council of the Institute and the  Prefetto of  Rome, Mr. Lamberto Giannini, attended the meeting. Then, Prefetto Giannini delivered a Lectio Magistralis to promote a constant and profitable relationship among the representatives of the institutions and the new generations. This event, which was moderated by Mrs. Flavia Giacobbe, Director of the magazine  Formiche, was closed by Professor Mario Caligiuri, President  of SOCINT, who delivered his lecture.

The Director of the Scuola di Perfezionamento per le Forze di Polizia, National Police Dirigente Generale Maurizio Vallone declared the following:  “Today, the training activity addressed to the management grade officers/officials of police forces must be based on the knowledge of the new technologies which are increasingly used by organized or economic criminal groups to hinder police  investigations and maximise their profit.  Only through an in-depth knowledge of the possibilities offered by technology, and today by artificial intelligence, we are able to understand how to face the challenges posed to society by the mafia-type and terrorist organizations, as well as by terrorists, hackers and ransomware” .
