On 7 and 8 April 2022, the “meeting of the analysts” entitled “New Normal and National Resilience and Recovery Plan, the challenges to be faced by police forces to safeguard an integrated security” was held for the fifth time. Every year, during this event, both the most important emerging issues affecting public security and the developments of the national and global future scenarios are analyzed, since they represent the main challenges for the strategic analysts.
This initiative is part of a set of measures aimed at developing laboratoty activity and sharing experiences and know-how among different kinds of professionals. The Scuola di Perfezionamento intended to join different experiences not only among members of Police Forces.
This meeting, which was intended to the trainees of the 23° II level Crime Analysis Course, as well as to the trainees of the XXXVII Advanced Training Course, was subdivided into two sessions. On the first day, the learning laboratory was dedicated to three tematic areas and was intended to the trainees divided into groups, who dealt with further issues of interest for police forces. On the second day, the meeting was held at the “Prefetto Carlo Mosca” Conference Hall, where the Scuola di Perfezionamento Director, Carabinieri Corps Major General Giuseppe La Gala, opened the session, welcomed the participants and expressed his gratitude to Mr. Alessandro Ferrara, Senior Trainer of the Crime Analysis Courses, for his full commitment in outlining and organizing this event, which is the only one of this kind in the Italian scenario. Moreover, the Academy Director expressed his satisfaction for the high level of the contents as well as for the positive influence they will have on the future professional careers of the trainees.
Then, the chairmen submitted their contributions, together with the trainees who illustrated their essays. The digital issues were dealt with, with reference to the social/economic and organizational/decision making impact on security matters, as well as the issues concerning mobility related to the infrastructure/strategic networks and to the consequences of migration and ecological transition related to the environmental and economic aspects, in particular the circular economy.
Representatives of the academic circles, as well as Senior Police Officers/Officials operating in the field of crime analysis, attended the meeting. They cooperated with the trainees in setting out the panels, which were focused on different aspects but dealt with a common subject.
The high–level lectures, delivered by Professor Antonio Teti, responsible for the Information System Sector and Technological Innovation and IT Governance and Big Data at the Chieti-Pescara based G. D’Annunzio University, together with Mrs. Luisa Franchina, President of the Associazione Italiana Esperti Infrastrutture Critiche, as well as by Mr. Mario Caligiuri, Professor of Communication Pedagogy at the Calabria-based University, by Mr. Luciano Bozzo, Professor of International Relations and Theories of International Politics at the Florence-based University and by Mr. Domenico Vecchiarino, intelligence and geopolitical analyst, contributed to the full success of this event.
