From 8 to 10 May 2024, the course on “The EU’s Cybersecurity Strategy for the Digital Decade’, organized by the European Security and Defence College (ESDC), was held at the ‘Prefetto Carlo Mosca’ Conference Hall in the Scuola di Perfezionamento per le Forze di Polizia.
The course was opened by the Director of the Scuola di Perfezionamento, National Police Dirigente Generale Maurizio Vallone and by Giuseppe Zuffanti, ESDC Coordinator for Cyber Issues, who explained the purpose of the course: to provide a better understanding of the main pillars of the EU’s Cybersecurity Strategy for the Digital Decade and the cybersecurity priorities outlined in the EU’s strategic compass.
The training session hosted more than 40 participants in a fully residential format. Participants included law enforcement, civilian, military and diplomatic personnel from Member States, EU national authorities, EU institutions and delegations and various other EU bodies.
This course was organized as a forum where experts from Member States, EU institutions and agencies, as well as the private sector, delivered lectures on cyber security, but also had the opportunity to interact with participants and inform them about current and future developments at the strategic, tactical and operational levels in the context of the EU cyber security strategy.
The course, now in its third year, was also attended by trainees from the Advanced Training Course at this Institute.
