Workshop in the framework of the project “Supporting Asset Recovery in the Western Balkans”

On 8 and 9 May 2024, a workshop in the framework of the project “Supporting Asset Recovery in the Western Balkans,” funded by the Italian government, was held at the “Cenacolo” Conference Hall of this Institute.

The overall purpose of this project is to support the efforts of the Judicial Authorities of the Western Balkans in the fields of anti-corruption and fight against illicit assets.

The project focuses on countering illicit financing in the Western Balkans and in supporting the efforts of law enforcement and prosecutors to deny and deprive criminals of their proceeds of crime.

The project will be complemented and supported through the UNODC regional platform for the rapid implementation of UNCAC and its action plan – the regional roadmap against corruption and illicit financing –  which was endorsed by all Western Balkans jurisdictions in 2021.

This event involved Italian experts from various institutions (ANBSC, FIU/Banca d’Italia, SCICO/ Guardia di Finanza Corps,  ARO/DCPC, DIA) and was characterized by interactive moments that allowed all participants to share their views, experiences, ideas and operational approaches.
