On 19 June 2026, the Commander-General of the Guardia di Finanza Corps, Lieutenant General Andrea De Gennaro, was welcomed by the Director of the Scuola di Perfezionamento per le Forze di Polizia, National Police Dirigente Generale Vincenzo Massimo Modeo, and met with the trainees of the 41st Advanced Training Course. During his lecture, Lieutenant General De Gennaro outlined the evolution of the Guardia di Finanza Corps and highlighted a continuous process of technical and cultural development aimed at precisely addressing modern needs for tax equity and economic security. In a global context characterized by significant financial instability and geopolitical conflicts, criminal organizations today rely on sophisticated digital technologies and cyber threats to move capital instantly and in ways that are difficult to trace.
Faced with such complex scenarios, the Guardia di Finanza Corps responds with a high degree of specialization that combines traditional investigative activities—such as the fight against money laundering, counterfeiting, and fraud involving public funds—with rigorous protection of the national and European Union budgets. This strong investigative expertise is complemented by outstanding operational capabilities on land and at sea, where the Guardia di Finanza Corps serves as the exclusive economic and financial police force and coast guard, ensuring border control and safeguarding the interests of the State and the international community. This meeting confirmed the high methodological standards of an institution capable of converting its specialized expertise into a concrete and technologically advanced safeguard in defense of the rule of law and citizens
