Interview with Prefetto Bruno Frattasi, Director General of the Agenzia per la Cybersicurezza Nazionale (National Cybersecurity Agency – A.C.N.  according to the Italian acronym)

In the afternoon of 25 March 2024, the Scuola di Perfezionamento Director, National Police Dirigente Generale Maurizio Vallone, was pleased to interview Prefetto Bruno Frattasi, Director General of the Agenzia per la Cybersicurezza Nazionale (National Cybersecurity Agency – A.C.N. according to the Italian acronym). This meeting was held at the “Prefetto Carlo Mosca” conference hall at this Institute.

Prefetto Frattasi, after extending his greetings to the trainees of the  XXXIX Advanced Training Course as well as to all the other participants, answered to the questions addressed by the Scuola di Perfezionamento Director and illustrated the activities conducted by A.N.C. as well as its prerogatives and responsibilities for surveillance and  control over the national cybersecurity sector.

The A.C.N. is the National Authority responsible for cybersecurity with the aim of protecting national interests in the field of cyberspace and maintaining close contacts with the European and international counterpart bodies.

This Agency is in charge of safeguarding security and resilience in the cyberspace. It is responsible for preventing and reducing the number of cyber attacks as well as for facilitating the achievement of technological authonomy.   

One of the main tasks of this Agency is the implementation of the National Cybersecurity Strategy, adopted by the Italian President of the Council of Ministers, which provides for the purposes to be  fulfilled before 2026.
