On 26 March 2024, a panel discussion on “Environment, health and food: three matters in danger” was held at the “Prefetto Carlo Mosca”, conference hall at this Institute.
The Scuola di Perfezionamento Director, National Police Dirigente Generale Maurizio Vallone, after extending his greetings to all the lecturers who attended the meeting, opened the workshop.
The following experts attended the meeting: Professor Marcella Trombetta, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology of Sustainable Development and One Health at the Campus Biomedico University of Rome, who introduced the workshop on the topic “From environmental to agribusiness crime: overview of the issue”; Engineer Valeria Frittelloni, Director of the Department for Environmental Assessment, Controls and Sustainability of ISPRA, who delivered her lecture on “ISPRA in relation to Environment and Health”; Member of Parliament Jacopo Morrone, Chairman of the Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry into illegal activities related to the waste cycle and other environmental and agribusiness offenses, who delivered his lecture on “Environmental and agribusiness offenses”; Carabinieri Corps Lt. Colonel Pasquale Starace, Commander of the Carabinieri Group for Environmental Protection and Energy Security in Naples, who delivered his lecture on “Environmental crime”; Carabinieri Corps Brigadier General Daniel Melis, Commander of the Carabinieri Command for the Protection of Agribusiness, who delivered his lecture on “Agribusiness crime”; Carabinieri Corps Colonel Walter Fava, Commander of the Rome-based Carabinieri Group for the Protection of Health, who delivered his lecture on “Crimes against food and drug safety”; Mr. Roberto Rossi, Public Prosecutor of the Italian Republic at the Bari-based Court, who delivered his lecture on “The new borders in the fight against environmental crime”.
The workshop was concluded in the afternoon by Professor Marcella Trombetta.
