Meeting with the CEPOL executive director held at the Scuola di Perfezionamento per le Forze di Polizia.

In the framework of a set of meetings with the political leadership as well as with the  top management of Police Forces of EU Member States, on 25 January  2023 the CEPOL Executive Director, Mrs. María Montserrat Marín López, visited the premises of the  Scuola di Perfezionamento per le Forze di Polizia.

This event was held at the “Prefetto Carlo Mosca” Academy Lecture Hall in the presence of the Senior Police Officers/Officials attending the XXXVIII Advanced Training Course as well as those attending the 119° Interagency Coordination and International Cooperation Refresher Course.

After the welcome speech delivered by the Academy Director, Carabinieri Corps Major General Giuseppe La Gala, the CEPOL Executive Director and then the CEPOL  E-learning Senior Project Officer of the International Cooperation Unit, Mr. Francesco La Forgia, took the floor.  They illustrated the structure, the tasks and the most important projects of the European Agency in the fields of training and cooperation.

This meeting was held in the form of a debate, since some Senior Police Officers/Officials, attending the Academy courses, took the floor and addressed some questions to the prominent  personalities participating in this event.

Then, a strategic meeting was held between the CEPOL Executive Director and the leadership of the Italian Police Forces. At the same time, a technical-operational meeting was held between two CEPOL Management Grade Police Officers operating respectively in the fields of training/research and international cooperation  and the top management  of the four Italian Police Forces.

The visit of the CEPOL Executive Director enhanced the cooperation process between the European Agency and Italian Police Forces and underlined, once more, the mission of the  Scuola di Perfezionamento, which is increasingly engaged in cooperating with foreign partners and institutional bodies, with a training approach based on the fundamental principles of interinstitutionality and internationality.
