On 28 November 2024, the Director of the Scuola di Perfezionamento per le Forze di Polizia (SFP), National Police Dirigente Generale Maurizio Vallone, together with the Head of the Studies, Researches and Courses Division, Carabinieri Corps Brigadier General Alessandro Della Nebbia, as well as with other representatives of the Studies Office, visited the Scuola di Polizia Economico-Finanziaria of the Guardia di Finanza Corps based in Ostia Lido (Rome).
The delegation of the SFP was welcomed by the Commander of the Scuola di Polizia Economico-Finanziaria, Major General Francesco Mattana, together with Brigadier General Gianluca De Benedictis, responsible for the Economic-Financial Courses as well as for the Advanced Course and with Brigadier General Alessandro Serena, Chief of Staff of the Institute. Then, the delegation participated in a briefing illustrating the mission and the activitiesconducted by this training Academy in the areas of greatest strategic interest for the Guardia di Finanza Corps, with the purpose of ensuring economic-financial legality both at national and European level.
The activity of the Academy, as highlighted during the briefing, is aimed at expanding its role as the “scientific centre” of economic-financial security, at developing its task as a driving force for “professional knowledge” in this sector, as well as at strengthening the international strategic function of the Guardia di Finanza Corps through capacity-building initiatives, with the purpose of disseminating values, knowledge, experience and peculiar features of the Guardia di Finanza, for the benefit of the whole foreign law enforcement system.
The meeting, including a visit to the premises of the Academy, to its modern teaching and support facilities, as well as to the International Courses hub established in 2014, represented a favourable opportunity to strengthen the already existing link between the two Institutes of Advanced Training and consolidate the longstanding partnership, also with a view to the possible adoption of further training initiatives aimed at pursuing higher levels of professional excellence for the benefit of security, coordination and all areas of primary interest to the Police Forces.
