On the occasion of World Day against Bullying and Cyberbullying, on 7 February 2023 the Scuola di Perfezionamento per le Forze di Polizia (“SPFP”) hosted the final day of the literary contest “Prevention of bullying and cyberbullying in school age”, i.e. a project organized by the Rotary Club Roma Aniene and other Rome-based Rotary clubs that involved a few selected high schools in Rome and its province.
The event took place at the “Prefetto Carlo Mosca” lecture hall and was attended by about 60 students, accompanied by some teachers and parents, participants of XXXVIII Advanced Training Course and XXV Second-level Crime Analysis Course, as well as prominent figures from the world of culture and institutions.
After the welcome address delivered by the SPFP Director, Major General of the Carabinieri Corps Giuseppe La Gala, and the President of the Rotary Club Roma Aniene Ms. Sara Iannone, the debate was started and involved all those present: organizers, representatives of the selected high schools and police foces involved in preventing and countering bullying and cyberbullying.
The meeting ended with the awarding of twelve students, i.e. the first three winners for each of the four categories admitted to the contest: poetry, narrative prose, photography and videoclip/short film.
The aim of the meeting was to testify the SPFP’s attention no only to more traditionally institutional issues and partners but also to phenomena that involve civil society as a whole, being well aware that in order to effectively ensure public security we cannot ignore the daily debate about topics that arouse the greatest social alarm especially as regards the youth.
