In the morning of 7 February 2024, the Scuola di Perfezionamento Director, National Police Dirigente Generale Maurizo Vallone, interviewed Prefetto Mario Parente, Director of the Internal Intelligence and Security Agency (A.I.S.I. according to the Italian acronym) and former trainee of the Advanced Training Course at this Institute. This meeting was held at the “Prefetto Carlo Mosca” Conference Hall at the Scuola di Perfezionamento per le Forze di Polizia.
Prefetto Parente illustrated the organizational structure of the Agency as well as its institutional functions: the Agency is in charge of collecting and processing all the information useful to preserve independence, integrity and internal security of the Italian Republic as well as of the democratic institutions and to protect them from threats, subversive activities and any kinds of criminal or terrorist actions. The rapid cyber evolution has made it necessary to strengthen also the sectors engaged in countering and preventing cyber attacks, which can jeopardize the “national cyber security framework”.
