In the afternoon of 9 January 2024, the Scuola di Perfezionamento was pleased to welcome the Prefetto of Rome Lamberto Giannini, who participated in a meeting with the attendees of the XXXIX Advanced Training Course as well as the trainees of the 123° Refresher Course in Interagency Coordination and International Cooperation. This meeting was held in the “Carlo Mosca” Conference Hall at the Scuola di Perfezionamento.
The Prefetto, interviewed by the Director of the Scuola di Perfezionamento, Maurizio Vallone, focused his attention on the topic concerning the management of public order and security, taking into account the importance of this issue in the city of Rome which is the Capital of Italy.
As a matter of fact, most part of political, trade union and sports events take place in this area. Some of these events causes problems and expose the whole city to real “invasions of people”, which particularly affect mobility in some of the city’s focal points.
Moreover, Prefetto Giannini underlined the activity carried out by the Prefettura of Rome in the fight against organized crime by means of the anti-mafia interdiction measures. .
He also analyzed in details the topic concerning the organization of coordinated territorial control plans to ensure security for citizens and tourists, in order to counter widespread and predatory crime.
At the end of this interview, the Prefetto addressed also the sensitive issue of labor disputes generated by business crises which, if not mediated effectively, can lead to serious consequences for public order.
The meeting, in the time-tested interview format, aroused keen interest from all the trainees.
